After years of being an Oracle consultant and publishing much of my original work to the public, I've decided to save some my trade secrets for my actual clients. If you are a prospective client and take the initiative to contact me, you will get free, valuable information. This information can save you substantial time and money when purchasing Oracle licenses, servers, and consulting services. However, this information is only available to my prospective clients.
We are experienced with the implementation, configuration, and upgrade of the Oracle E-Business Suite. We specialize in Oracle Applications E-Business Suite implementations and upgrades. We can also help you to extend functionality beyond what the standard ERP system offers in its base product conforming to Oracle E-Business best practices.
We work closely with our clients to evaluate their business requirement and how these requirements can best be accomplished using each ERP system. We will propose different solutions and help to evaluate each solution and how it fits the unique business requirement. Once a solution has been selected, we implement the solution and train the developers and user community accordingly.
Oracle Workflow, Forms, and Reports can be difficult tools to learn but these programs can be powerful factors for making your business run the way you want. With Oracle R12, there are several new options that should be considered.
Reporting
Many Oracle standard reports have been migrated into a new format where a set of elements are available and a template defines which elements you want to see and how you want them formatted. This was a major drawback of earlier Oracle E-Business releases since reporting was usually dependent on an Oracle Developer. In Release 12, the user can create the report templates with ease. Not all reports have been migrated to this new format and there are limitations to the reporting capability; nevertheless, this is a great new feature in Oracle R12.
Forms
Many of the forms in Oracle are now web-based forms (JSP). This is probably a result of Oracle's acquisition of JD Edwards. Some of the new forms are useful and add functionality, such as the forms for Oracle Payments. Unfortunately, there are bugs that need to be worked out and there are many patches being released to fix some of these problems. Ultimately, it is likely that Oracle forms will be replaced by OA framework.
Updated February 2009 - We recently completed an upgrade from Oracle E-Business Suite 11.0.3 to Release 12. The company is a well known, publicly traded company that is a leader in their field of technology. After successfully completing this complex upgrade, a new operating unit and additional modules were added in Release 12 to consolidate business processes across operating units. The upgrade from 11.0.3 to R12 is complicated and we highly recommend using a consulting firm that has this specific experience with this upgrade path.
Updated October 2007 - One of our most successful projects went live this month and provided our client with a tremendous value. Our company served as the integration partner for Oracle Receivables and an Interactive Voice Response vendor (Apptera) to allow customers to pay and manage their accounts by phone. By using effective project management and working closely with the client's different departments, and practicing a careful development and deployment methodology, the go-live was flawless. The client reported that their Accounts Receivable call volume was reduced by 43% on the first day, receiving over $250,000 per week, and processing each transaction in less than a second.
